The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leonard closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tavares's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Leonard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tavares jabs Leonard to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Leonard gets the takedown into side control.
Leonard slows the pace down.
Leonard throws a strike aimed at the side of Tavares's head but Tavares avoids it well.
Leonard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee asks Leonard politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Leonard prefers to stall for the moment though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tavares looks to move to half guard but instead Leonard has passed into mount! Damn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz closes the distance and pushes Levi back into the cage.
Levi is working Cruz over against the cage.

Levi has picked Cruz up - he's going for a ride! Levi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Cruz is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Levi scores with a couple of nice shots.
Levi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Levi is nestled in close to Cruz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
