Thompson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is All In The Family. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Nadir, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nadir closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Thompson with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Thompson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nadir has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Nadir lands a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Thompson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nadir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nadir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nadir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nadir is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Thompson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Thompson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nadir defends it easily.

Thompson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nadir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nadir stands up over Thompson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Thompson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nadir can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Thompson has his foot on Nadir's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nadir works his way back into a safe position though.
Nadir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Nadir and the ref steps in to end the fight! Nadir can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Dacir which made him look bad.

Dacir closes the distance and clinches.
Smith looking to throw knees to the head but Dacir is blocking nicely.
Dacir tries to work over Smith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Dacir is pressed up against the cage. Smith has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dacir down to the mat. Dacir avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Smith shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dacir eats them both and turns towards Smith to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dacir moves away.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dacir swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dacir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dacir wants it to stay on the feet.
