Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian Belmont!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmont changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maynard tries to avoid it but Belmont manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maynard to the ground. Maynard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Belmont shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maynard but Maynard pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Belmont pushes Maynard up against the cage in a clinch.
Maynard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Belmont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maynard lands with a nice combination. Belmont backs away looking to recover.
Belmont moves away from the strike by Maynard.
Belmont takes one on the button.
Maynard leaves Belmont with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Maynard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Belmont takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Belmont is still on wobbly legs! Can Maynard finish him?
Belmont gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Maynard gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Belmont is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Awesome swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hope thows a left - swing and a miss!
A nice combination there by Awesome.
Awesome throws a series of punches but Hope moves out of range.
Awesome lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Hope can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Awesome and Hope drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Awesome.

Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Diaz slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Tate.
