The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartak takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

It looks like Leonid Spartak has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Owl steps into range and cracks Spartak with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Spartak flops backwards and Owl dives into his guard looking to finish!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Owl wanted to stand there but Spartak had control of the position.
Spartak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Owl must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Leonid Spartak wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Owl cracks Spartak with an uppercut from hell and Spartak crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Owl's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Owl wanted to stand there but Spartak had control of the position.

Owl gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Owl lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Spartak out cold! Spartak is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
