The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chuteboxe gets the takedown into side control.

Chuteboxe tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well.
Chuteboxe in side control, throwing shots but Williams defends.

Chuteboxe looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Chuteboxe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chuteboxe works to advance to full mount. Williams defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Williams tries to lock up and control but Chuteboxe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Williams looks winded!
Chuteboxe scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Williams?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chuteboxe wants to finish this one by submission but Williams is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Chuteboxe.

Chuteboxe looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Chuteboxe working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Williams is in a horrible position here. Chuteboxe smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Chuteboxe jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Williams manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Williams parries the strikes from Chuteboxe easily there. Chuteboxe is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Williams to escape.

Williams is looking for a sweep.
Chuteboxe lands an elbow.
Chuteboxe throwing shots but missing, from side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Chuteboxe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Williams takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Chuteboxe is working to tighten is grip on Williams's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Williams has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Chuteboxe is really squeezing tight and eventually Williams passes out! Chuteboxe breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A right-left combo lands from Martins.
Pyle looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Martins throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pyle tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Martins is in Pyle's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Martins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee asks Martins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Martins prefers to stall for the moment though.

Balestra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzbaijzky stalks Goncalves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Goncalves's face. Goncalves staggers backwards, shaken.
Goncalves fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

This has been an exciting period of action!
