The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roach misses with an uppercut. Ryu saw that one coming.
Roach throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ryu counters with a shoot takedown. Roach fights it but they end up in guard.
Ryu tries to stand but Roach is controlling from the bottom.

Ryu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roach has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ryu has managed to get both his arms back between Roach's legs - danger averted.
Roach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Roach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ryu is one step ahead there.
Roach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ryu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Roach bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryu's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ryu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Roach drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ryu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ryu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ryu!

Ryu tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Ryu is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Evil Ryu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ryu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Hayl bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Rodrigo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayl napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hayl is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rodrigo off and has taken his back!
Hayl is striking well from the back but Rodrigo escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cyrus The Virus!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Virus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fatu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Virus tries to avoid it but Fatu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Virus to the ground. The Virus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The Virus swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fatu has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Fatu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Virus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fatu moves away.
Fatu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No luck for Fatu with that takedown attempt.
The Virus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fatu.
Fatu shoots in looking for a takedown but The Virus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fatu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Fatu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but The Virus avoids it really well and circles away.

The Virus stuffs the takedown attempt from Fatu. Fatu gets slowly back to his feet.

The Virus drops Fatu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fatu looks back up at him and smiles so The Virus waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fatu is rocked!

It looks like Eddie Fatu has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The Virus stuffs the takedown.

The Virus throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A combination from The Virus does no damage.
Eddie Fatu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Virus feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fatu sprawling to the canvas! Fatu rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can The Virus finish him?!
Oh Fatu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The Virus throws a right hand that Fatu ducks under and follows up with a left that Fatu also avoids with ease.
No luck for Fatu with that takedown attempt.
Fatu seems to have got his legs back now.
Fatu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The Virus throws a monster overhand right that drops Fatu! The Virus follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
