Jeremie Manninen had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both these guys have really solid chins. Philip has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pulev wants to break the clinch but can't.
Philip has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pulev regains guard immediately.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Philip content to stall in guard here.
Philip is pushing down on Pulev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pulev is fighting to maintain full guard but Philip has managed to sneak the leg through.
Philip seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Philip has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pulev has left one of his arms exposed and Philip doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Pulev screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
