The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thomas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Todorov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thomas controls the pace.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruutu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Butterfly manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ruutu on his heels. He'll look to pass Ruutu's guard now, I'm sure.
Butterfly throws an elbow that misses. Ruutu uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Butterfly's guard. Nice move by Ruutu!
Ruutu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Butterfly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Butterfly wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ruutu is now in half guard.

Ruutu is looking to improve his position but Butterfly isn't that keen on the idea.
Butterfly has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ruutu's face.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ruutu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Butterfly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Butterfly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round but I would say that Iain Durrant will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
