The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson Jr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bartlet shoots for a takedown but Johnson Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bartlet tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bartlet somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josiah Bartlet. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bartlet rushes Johnson Jr and presses him up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Targaryen shoots in looking for a takedown. Patterson tries to sprawl out of it but Targaryen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Patterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hank Patterson.
I think Targaryen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
