The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes swats away the attempt to clinch by Sushi.
Sushi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Yoshi Sushi has been cut.
Hughes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sushi tries to clinch there but Hughes circles away.
Hughes lands a lovely overhand right.
Sushi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hughes throws out the jab.
Sushi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hughes.
Sushi misses with a takedown attempt - Hughes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mark Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hughes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hughes misses with a straight left.
Sushi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
No luck for Sushi with that takedown attempt.

The cut above Yoshi Sushi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Yoshi Sushi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sushi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hughes throws a looping overhand right but Sushi ducks down to avoid it.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Hughes! Sushi is backing up but he can't get away as Hughes lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Sushi and ends the fight. Great knockout.
