The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanghief getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Sanghief misses with a double jab.

Heyat tries to keep at a distance but Sanghief has taken the fight into the clinch.
Heyat wants to break the clinch but can't.
Heyat manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Sanghief escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanghief lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Gabriel Heyat has been cut.

Igor Sanghief seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sanghief wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Sanghief is stalling here. Heyat is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sanghief seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Heyat has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That was a close round but I would say that Igor Sanghief will probably get the nod.

Sanghief feints and as Heyat raises his hands in defense, Sanghief changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Heyat has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sanghief doesn't defend quickly enough and Heyat has managed to lock this one up! Can Sanghief escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Heyat on a fantastic submission victory.

Jim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gaarlandt dives in for a single leg takedown but Jim sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gaarlandt tries to throw a body punch but Jim avoids it by throwing Gaarlandt back against the cage.
Gaarlandt tries to pull guard but Jim holds him up against the cage and eventually Gaarlandt drops back down to his feet.

Jim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Gaarlandt, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jim jabs at Gaarlandt's body.
Gaarlandt takes one to the side of the head.
Jim fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gaarlandt looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gaarlandt takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGregor gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferdanand to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McGregor is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
McGregor has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ferdanand told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Ferdanand is looking to stand up but McGregor won't let him.

Aiden McGregor has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

McGregor is nestled in close to Ferdanand, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
McGregor seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
McGregor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Poirie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rhoades's guard.
