The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Alexander or perhaps it was just good defense by Schantl which made him look bad.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schantl as he avoids it easily.
Alexander takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Daniel Alexander has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alexander is defended easily by Schantl.

Schantl throws a sloppy head kick and Alexander moves out of range easily.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schantl as he jumps to the side.
Schantl scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schantl rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alexander moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Schantl throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Schantl's jab looks to have found its range, popping Alexander under the eye.
No luck for Alexander with that takedown attempt.
Alexander is breathing heavily.
Schantl wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Schantl cracks Alexander with a good jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alexander gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Schantl gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Nickoson thows a body shot but no joy.
Obeh lands a glancing blow to the side of Nickoson's head.
Obeh connects with an inside leg kick.
Obeh throws a leg kick which misses Nickoson's front leg but catches the back leg as Nickoson tries to avoid it.

and Obeh counters with a slapping leg kick.
Obeh stuffs the takedown.
Obeh wants to clinch up but Nickoson keeps it at a distance.
Good leg kick by Obeh there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

It looks like Ratrick Obeh has been cut.

and Nickoson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nickoson.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Obeh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Nickoson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Obeh can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nickoson advances nicely into full mount.
Obeh is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obeh is looking to improve his position but Nickoson isn't that keen on the idea.
Nickoson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Obeh can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Nickoson lands a big shot there that rocks Obeh but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

A lazy left from Piano finds it's target.
Piano throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snow's waist but Snow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Piano off to one side.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Snow will probably get the nod.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Snow has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Snow and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Snow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Snow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
