Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Zef Tanghe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rau Utu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanghe checks the leg kick.
Tanghe takes a swing at Utu's ribcage but misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Utu.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Utu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tanghe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tanghe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tanghe misses with a body kick.
Tanghe blocks a head kick by Utu.
Tanghe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Utu moves away.
Tanghe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tanghe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Utu.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Utu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tanghe's sensitive parts.
Utu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Tanghe is breathing heavily.
Tanghe walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Zef Tanghe has been cut.
Tanghe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Utu fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Utu drops Tanghe with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tanghe looks back up at him and smiles so Utu waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Utu throws a pinpoint strike between Tanghe's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Tanghe crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Utu scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rau Utu!
Rau Utu was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

A fine choice. Terrier comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Closer - Nine Inch Nales kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
