The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios scores with the left hand. Killers knows he should have avoided that one.

Killers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
You can see the frustration on Rios's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Killers tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ejae Killers wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Rios pushes Killers back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Killers gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Rios points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Killers wakes up just in time to hear Rios thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

A slow jab from Rico misses its intended target.
Givinaldo moves in looking to clinch but Rico pushes him off.
Givinaldo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Givinaldo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rico fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Givinaldo.
Rico misses with a low kick.

Givinaldo defending well as Rico loads up on a big left hand.
Givinaldo ducks right into an uppercut from Rico.
Rico lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rico misses with a jab, cross combination.

Givinaldo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rico tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Givinaldo is in Rico's guard.

Carrier moves in looking to clinch but Roussimoff pushes him off.
Carrier wants to clinch

and Roussimoff counters with a single leg into guard. Carrier didn't expect that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Roussimoff is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Roussimoff prevents Carrier from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roussimoff controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Roussimoff stands and throws Carrier's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Carrier trying to remain calm as Roussimoff controls from the top position.
Roussimoff has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Well, if Roussimoff is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jon Jones had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Crews can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones gets to mount! Crews was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crews as he avoids it easily.
Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Crews.

Crews fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Crews shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Crews lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Crews.

Crews gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Crews. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
With the fighters up against the cage, Jones throws an elbow but misses.

Jones controls Crews momentarily but Crews frees himself.

Shelton connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Lucas tumbling to the canvas! Shelton pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Lucas was done - good stoppage!

Warrior stays in close to Li's body and controls the position.
