Almanez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock Hood by Shinobi Ninja kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shane Dela Cruz had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.1lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Almanez finds Dela Cruz's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Dela Cruz flops back against the ropes, eyes gazing into the distance. Almanez lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Dela Cruz will be OK.
