That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dwight Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Medrado has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khan has managed to get both his arms back between Medrado's legs - danger averted.

Khan shoots in but Medrado avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Medrado!
Khan lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Medrado swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Khan is now in Medrado's guard. A big mistake from Medrado there, giving up the dominant position!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Khan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Medrado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Medrado has his foot on Khan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khan works his way back into a safe position though.
