The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Martin!
Xyz ducks under a wild hook from Martin.
Xyz throws a leg kick but Martin checks it.

Xyz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Xyz wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
Martin wants to sweep here but Xyz controlling him for the moment.
Xyz trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Xyz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Xyz off to one side.
Xyz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Xyz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Martin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Martin cracks Xyz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Martin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Xyz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Xyz tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Martin connects with a looping right hand.
Martin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Xyz shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Xyz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Martin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Martin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Xyz sprawling to the canvas! Xyz rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Martin finish him?!

Xyz is rocked!

Oh Xyz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Xyz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keith Martin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Martin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Xyz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Xyz seems to have got his legs back now.
Martin throws an overhand right that drops Xyz like a sack of potatoes! Martin dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Excellent takedown into side control there by King.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
King is looking to take a break and control but Karate is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Karate manages to work his way to half guard, despite King's best efforts.
Karate moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
King wants to control from the top but Karate keeps moving.
Karate wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karate swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pistole is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pistole is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Angelo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
