The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veyn throws a one two combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Veyn is defended easily by Bean.
Bean ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Veyn moves away.

Veyn gets a clinch.
Bean prevents a body shot from Veyn.
Veyn lands a shoulder strike.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Veyn scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Bean is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Veyn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Veyn presses Bean against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stalis keeps working.
Hawkins cracks Stalis with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Stalis wants to control but Hawkins postures up.
Stalis is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Hawkins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Stalis parries the strikes from Hawkins easily there. Hawkins is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stalis to escape.

Hawkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stalis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hawkins wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stalis, who protects the arm well.

The ground and pound from Hawkins seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stalis is pushing Hawkins's head away, looking to escape. Hawkins manages to hold on to the position though.

Stalis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hawkins lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That was a close second round but I would say that Breslin Stalis will probably get the nod.

McGraw leaves Ivanov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McGraw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ivanov pinned against the cage. Ivanov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan McGraw. That's going to take a lot out of him.
