The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Wayne blocks the low kick.
Wayne goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Klaipeda misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Klaipeda stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

A jab-cross combination lands for Klaipeda and sends Wayne crashing to the mat! Klaipeda follows him down to the mat - Wayne regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Wayne is rocked!

It looks like Bob Jo Wayne has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Wayne is looking to escape.
Oh Wayne is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Klaipeda stands up from half guard.
Wayne wants to clinch.
Wayne misses with a takedown attempt - Klaipeda sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No joy there for Klaipeda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Klaipeda knocks Wayne out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Volibear on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oneil is defended easily by Volibear.

Volibear gets the takedown into side control.
Volibear works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oneil manages to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oneil is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Volibear's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Volibear's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneil is riding his opponent, not letting Volibear buck him off.
Oneil keeps control of the position as Volibear tries to break free.

Oneil is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Volibear won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Oneil off his unconscious opponent!

Shaquille Oneil got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'

Nice defenses there by Syatev.
Lombardo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Syatev.
Syatev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Lombardo feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Syatev sprawling to the canvas! Syatev rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lombardo finish him?!

Syatev is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lombardo throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Syatev counters by clinching up.

Syatev decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lombardo wanted to stand there but Syatev had control of the position.

Lombardo gets to his feet. Syatev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Syatev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lombardo throws a right hand that misses

and Syatev holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Syatev is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lombardo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Syatev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Lombardo wants a takedown but no success here.

Syatev pulls guard successfully.
Lombardo tries to stand but Syatev is controlling from the bottom.

Lombardo stands up and waves to Syatev to follow him.
Lombardo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Syatev.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Syatev walks straight into a right hand from Lombardo - that's dropped him! Lombardo jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Syatev from any more punishment! Syatev complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
