The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.
Smith tries to clinch there but James circles away.

James shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smith parries the strikes from James easily there. James is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Smith to escape.
Smith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, James asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Smith manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pelser takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Pelser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shudley swivels and escapes.

Shudley drops Pelser with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pelser looks back up at him and smiles so Shudley waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Pelser is still on wobbly legs! Can Shudley finish him?
Pelser drops his hands momentarily and Shudley needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Pelser just on the top of the head. Pelser drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Pelser - he's done!

Boykin shoots in looking for a takedown. Castle tries to sprawl out of it but Boykin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Castle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boykin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Dimentiy Boykin has been cut.
Castle connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boykin. Boykin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Boykin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Castle tries to avoid it but Boykin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Castle to the ground. Castle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Boykin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Eric Castle really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Nutrition Your Way! logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
