The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortisimo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fortisimo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pommi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fortisimo's calf.
Fortisimo throws a leg kick but Pommi sees it coming and moves out of range.
Pommi throws out a leg kick but Fortisimo moves out of range and Pommi only half commits.
Fortisimo throws a shot to the body.
Fortisimo feints and then cracks Pommi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pommi down.
Fortisimo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pommi is out of range and Fortisimo settles back down.
Fortisimo throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pommi's head.
Fortisimo throws a body punch but Pommi moves out of range.
Fortisimo thows a body shot but no joy.
Pommi throws a quick inside leg kick.
Pommi fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fortisimo checks it well.
Fortisimo is looking to score with low kicks.

Pommi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fortisimo.
Pommi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Pommi feints and as Fortisimo raises his hands in defense, Pommi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Pommi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pommi passes into half guard.

Pommi perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Pommi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fortisimo is controlling an arm, preventing Pommi from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Fortisimo is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Pommi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Fortisimo has left one of his arms exposed and Pommi doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Fortisimo screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

McCay gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Oh Kliko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCay lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Kliko head around and knocks him out cold! McCay hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Gaarlandt complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Firahzi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Wyatt fails with a takedown attempt.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandy feints and then cracks Castro's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Castro down.
Castro closes the distance and clinches up with Brandy, looking for a takedown. Castro pushes Brandy against the cage but Brandy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Castro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Brandy scores with a leg kick.

Brandy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Castro is staying active underneath Brandy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Castro won't allow Brandy to pass to mount.

Brandy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Castro sees it coming and defends easily.

Brandy is working for a submission of some sort.

Castro is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brandy pulls his head out easily.

Brandy is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Castro has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Brandy has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Castro taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Brandy doesn't care though - he's delighted!
