The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
King distracts Mistry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mistry swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lodano closes the distance and clinches.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Ongka has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lodano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ongka is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Ongka tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lodano wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ongka is trying to control Lodano's posture but Lodano avoids it.

The fighters are battling for position here. Ongka manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Ongka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lodano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lodano working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ongka is on top in guard.

Ongka thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lodano tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ongka wants to control from the top but Lodano keeps moving.
Ongka is looking to work some ground and pound but Lodano has wrist control.

Ongka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ongka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lodano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lodano fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Ongka Ongka has been cut.
Ongka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lodano as he avoids it easily.
Lodano connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ongka's hands.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ongka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lodano thuds his right hand into Ongka's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ongka is rocked!
Lodano lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Ongka up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Lodano from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Ongka's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lucas Lodano!
