The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nikolaev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Nikolaev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Crawford has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nikolaev has managed to get both his arms back between Crawford's legs - danger averted.

Nikolaev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
We've been hearing reports that Nikolaev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Nikolaev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nikolaev lands in his opponent's guard.
