Morawski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Scurlock as he avoids it easily.
Scurlock sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Morawski dives in and grabs Scurlock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scurlock pushes down on Morawski's head and hops out.
Morawski connects with an inside leg kick.
Morawski attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Bitaskis swings for the body but Parts moves out of range.
No luck for Bitaskis with that takedown attempt.
Bitaskis dives in for a single leg takedown but Parts sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Parts lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Parts manages to break the clinch.
Bitaskis tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Parts defends well and Bitaskis ends up having to push Parts into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bitaskis is trying to drag Parts to the mat but Parts just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bitaskis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parts to the mat! Parts manages to get full guard.

Bitaskis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Parts keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Parts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bitaskis throws a jab when Parts was well out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bitaskis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Parts counters with a huge head kick that drops Bitaskis! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Parts! Peter Parts retains his light heavyweight title!
Peter Parts decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
