The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman shoots in looking for a takedown. Cooper tries to sprawl out of it but Roman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cooper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roman lands with a slapping head kick.
No luck for Cooper with that takedown attempt.

Cooper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roman sprawls well. Roman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cooper gets slowly back to his feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Gaudencio Roman will probably get the nod.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Tanimoto.

Tanimoto lands a big head kick that sends Fabiano tumbling to the mat! Tanimoto takes a step backwards and waves Fabiano back to his feet - he wants the finish!
