The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickoson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jet misses with a takedown
and Nickoson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jet shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nickoson counters with a stiff right hand.
Nickoson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fighters circling - Nickoson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nickoson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jet closes the distance and clinches up with Nickoson, looking for a takedown. Jet pushes Nickoson against the cage but Nickoson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Nickoson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mike Nickoson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Jet.
Horrible takedown by Jet or perhaps it was just good defense by Nickoson which made him look bad.

I think Schmierer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Down in Dunedin by Pissd Chris/Tokie Konez/Kamasuda/Devil Keyz. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mike Millar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong shoots in but Sungbin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sungbin as he avoids it easily.

Sungbin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kong as he jumps to the side.

Kong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sungbin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kong has Sungbin pulled in close to control his posture.
Kong wants to sweep here but Sungbin controlling him for the moment.

Sungbin drops back looking for a leg! Kong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kong manages to kick Sungbin off! Sungbin jumps back into Kong's guard.

Sungbin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kong looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kong looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kong!

Sungbin is not content to let Kong control the position.

Kong tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Kong works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Sungbin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Sungbin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kong's best efforts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sungbin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sungbin.
Kong postures up in Sungbin's guard and throws a big left but Sungbin blocks it.
Sungbin is trying to hold Kong in close to prevent damage but Kong has managed to pass into half guard.

Kong winds up and cracks Sungbin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sungbin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong is trying to control. Sungbin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sungbin has hold of Kong's hands but Kong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sungbin is pressing down on Kong's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sungbin looking to control but Kong passes into half guard.
Sungbin tries to roll over but Kong keeps him under control.
Kong seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kong seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Sungbin is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

A determined Dong Kong didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!

Nickoson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones connects with a body shot.
Jones takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones lands a nice looking body shot.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nickoson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nickoson lands in his opponent's guard.
Nickoson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones is trying to keep Nickoson in close.

Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nickoson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones scores with a one two! Nickoson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nickoson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Nickoson looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Jones cracks a nice hook into Nickoson's ribs.
Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nickoson looking to score a takedown here. Jones is defending well but Nickoson drives through and ends up in Jones's guard.
Nickoson wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Nickoson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bryan Nickoson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Jones stuns Nickoson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bubba Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nickoson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Nickoson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nickoson throws a big elbow that misses.
Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Nickoson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Nickoson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Nickoson wasn't active enough on the ground.

Jones works Nickoson's body with a nice hook.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nickoson circles away quickly and effectively.
Nickoson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jones.
Nickoson misses with a body shot.
Nickoson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nickoson shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Nickoson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nickoson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Jones lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Jones lands a big uppercut and Nickoson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Nickoson looks OK. Jones waves Nickoson back to his feet!

A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.
Nickoson is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Jones drops Nickoson with a huge uppercut! Nickoson drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Jones is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
