The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a series of strikes that have Starkard backpedaling.
James connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Starkard momentarily.
Starkard tries to close the distance and clinch up but James swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Starkard circles away from the clinch attempt.
Starkard tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance.
Starkard tries to clinch but James moves out of range.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
James managing to block the knees to the body from Starkard.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Starkard has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bubba James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Starkard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Starkard off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James stands up over Starkard, holding on to his feet. James throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Starkard is out cold! James lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Rytkonen lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Rytkonen celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Well Nijem has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
