The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laswa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gracie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gracie tries to bench press Laswa off him but Laswa keeps the position.

Laswa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Laswa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Laswa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gracie has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gracie looking for a sweep but Laswa has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Gracie can't escape the position.
Laswa thowing shots but they're missing.
Laswa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but Laswa has a good base and remains in mount.
Gracie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Laswa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Laswa's back!

Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Laswa is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now.
Gracie is trying to stick to Laswa's back but Laswa is turning into Gracie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gracie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Laswa.

Gracie throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Laswa escapes and throws Gracie's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Laswa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Jefferson will probably get the nod.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mayer enables Jefferson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mayer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jefferson won't allow Mayer to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mayer is on top in guard.

It looks like Roberto Nascimento has been cut.
Maxiq circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nascimento on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Maxiq tests Nascimento's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maxiq fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Nascimento looks to land a combination but Maxiq avoids it well.
Nascimento takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Maxiq lunges at Nascimento with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nascimento's hand.

That has opened up Roberto Nascimento's cut even more.

Maxiq feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nascimento sprawling to the canvas! Nascimento rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Maxiq finish him?!

Nascimento is rocked!
Maxiq connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Nascimento out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Silvean Maxiq!
Silvean Maxiq tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

Tkyka misses with a double jab.

Nascimento shoots in and bounces Tkyka off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nascimento might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nascimento postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tkyka is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nascimento, into his guard.
Nascimento utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tkyka tries to stand but Nascimento is controlling from the bottom.

Nascimento pushes a forearm under Tkyka's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Tkyka is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
