The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hughes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hughes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rasputin circles away quickly and effectively.
Rasputin wants to clinch.
Rasputin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rasputin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hughes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rasputin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Matt Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hughes throws a hook but Rasputin blocks it.
Rasputin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Rasputin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hughes as he avoids it easily.

Hughes drops Rasputin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rasputin looks back up at him and smiles so Hughes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rasputin avoids the body shot from Hughes.
Hughes throws a looping overhand right but Rasputin ducks down to avoid it.
Rasputin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Hughes! This one is all over!
