Cresta stalks Hemmo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hemmo's face. Hemmo staggers backwards, shaken.

Hemmo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hemmo digs a good body shot into Cresta's ribs.

Hemmo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Juan Ignacio Cresta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Miyamoto flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Akagono anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Miyamoto and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Akagono slips an arm under Miyamoto chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Akagono has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Akagono is squeezing on Miyamoto like an anaconda would it's prey. Miyamoto fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ceoghan Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuto Suzuzka!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suzuzka pinned against the ropes. Suzuzka gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cartwright dodges the punch combination from Suzuzka.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Suzuzka is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Suzuzka not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Suzuzka is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Cartwright reverses the position - he's now on top in Suzuzka's guard.
Suzuzka looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cartwright is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Suzuzka can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cartwright slips nicely into half guard.

Cartwright seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Suzuzka does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Suzuzka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cartwright is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Suzuzka defends it well.
