Better comes to the cage accompanied by Mother by Danzig. Bird is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Face the pain - Stemm. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Better displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bird.
Bird shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Better counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bird won't be happy with that.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Better has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Better is looking to take a break and control but Bird is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bird seems a little lost for a moment, as Better dominates the positioning.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Seigi Ozeki.
