The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Gordon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kivipelto works to advance to full mount. Gordon defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connolly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A big right from Paul misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Paul has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Paul shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Connolly sprawls well. Connolly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Paul gets slowly back to his feet.
Connolly lands a right hook to the body.
Connolly throws a leg kick but Paul sees it coming and checks it nicely.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paul is on top in guard.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tommy Foley was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

A nice inside leg kick there by Yaj. That's going to slow Patos down.

and Yaj counters with a stiff right hand.

Yaj throws a sloppy head kick and Patos moves out of range easily.
Yaj connects with a leg kick. Patos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Patos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Patos is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yaj pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
