Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Manningham Snapple!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Woodring!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodring lands a nice looking body shot.
Woodring moves out of range as Snapple throws a body kick.
Woodring swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Snapple shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Woodring but Woodring pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Snapple showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Woodring.
Woodring tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snapple was well out of range. Poor timing from Woodring.
Snapple digs a good body shot into Woodring's ribs.
Snapple tries to clinch up but Woodring circles away and keeps his distance.

Snapple closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Snapple fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Snapple is trying to trip Woodring. He has hold of a leg but Woodring is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Snapple persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snapple wants to pass the guard but Woodring is keeping the position.
Snapple might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Snapple won't allow Woodring to get back to his feet.

Woodring bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Snapple's guard.
Woodring has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Snapple is proving hard to escape from.
Woodring must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Snapple is looking for a triangle but Woodring pushes his legs off easily.
Snapple not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Woodring stays in close to Snapple's body and controls the position.
Woodring wants to get up but he can't break Snapple's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Snapple wants to sweep but no luck.
Snapple throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Woodring wanted to stand there but Snapple had control of the position.
Woodring tries to free his leg and advance position but Snapple is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Snapple is breathing heavily.
Woodring throws a nice head kick!
Woodring scores with the left hand. Snapple knows he should have avoided that one.
Woodring is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Snapple checks a leg kick.

Woodring with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Woodring throws a left that rocks Snapple and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Woodring dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Snapple regain composure!

Snapple is rocked!
Woodring moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Oh Snapple is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Let's hope that Woodring has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Woodring works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Snapple seems to have got his legs back now.

Woodring stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Woodring throws a series of strikes that have Snapple backpedaling.

Manningham Snapple's cut is getting worse.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Woodring feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Snapple's calf.
Woodring uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Snapple has time to react.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owen Woodring dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Manningham Snapple's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Snapple on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Woodring. Woodring obviously looking to wear him down.

Woodring works Snapple's body with a nice hook.
A nice inside leg kick there by Woodring. That's going to slow Snapple down.
Snapple walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Woodring is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Woodring connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Snapple is rocked!
Woodring circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Snapple to the canvas! Snapple doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Woodring keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
