The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lock thows a body shot but no joy.
Lock blocks the body kick.
Lock really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vasilev shoots in looking for a takedown but Lock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vasilev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lock drops Vasilev with a right and a left! Lock comes rushing in but Vasilev regains his composure and manages to keep Lock in guard.

It looks like Vladislav Vasilev has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vasilev being controlled here, momentarily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Lock.

Lock gets a clinch.
Vasilev prevents a takedown attempt there.
Vasilev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lock prevents it.
Lock has been working on his balance at , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Vasilev.

John Lock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Lock has cracked Vasilev with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Lock lands another huge swinging hook and Vasilev tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vasilev, before Lock can land any more shots!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Pettis or perhaps it was just good defense by Walker which made him look bad.
Pettis wants to clinch.
Pettis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Pettis misses with a straight left.
Pettis tries to clinch but Walker is having none of it.
Pettis dives in for a single leg takedown but Walker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Pettis tries a knee to the head but Walker blocks it.
Walker is trying to maintain a safe position but Pettis gets an underhook and turns Walker into the cage.
Pettis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Walker after a bit of a struggle.

Walker moves into range and connects with a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
