Smith lands a nice shot to the body.
Bones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Bones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Bones throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.

and Bones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

My spies in Farrell Pikey Camp inform me that Bones has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Bones has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bones manages to avoid it.

Bones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Bones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bones tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Smith lands a leg kick that knocks Bones off balance momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bones. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith drops Bones with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bones looks back up at him and smiles so Smith waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Bones is rocked!
It looks like Jonny Bones has been cut.
Smith drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Bones's head, knocking him out cold! Smith is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Noel Smith!
During a confident post fight interview, Noel Smith thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

and Ballantine counters with a crisp one two that drops Salcedo! Ballantine thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Salcedo to his feet! Salcedo is in big trouble!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salcedo get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Salcedo stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Ballantine runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

A very excited looking Johnie Ballantine made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Oscar Salcedo spoke after the fight, saying 'Hey guys I just wanted to say thanks for everything, you guys have made the last couple years of my life amazing. Its time for me to step back and retire. Ive given you guys everything I have but I have to look out for my health and my family. I have to retire tonight, thanks for everything.'.
