Dominic Manucci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Manucci drops Lucchese with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lucchese looks back up at him and smiles so Manucci waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Lucchese leaves his chin hanging out and Manucci seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Lucchese crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs shoots in and drives through. Rick sprawls well.
Rick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Briggs sprawls well. Briggs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rick gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Rick has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Briggs misses with a hook. Rick ducked under it nicely.

Rick closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Briggs did well to prevent Rick getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bobby Briggs decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
The defeated Slick Rick had this to say: 'I darn near turned pale, and because of betrayal they indicted me, and gave me an impossible bail. '.
