The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnerwetter throws the left hand but Perez avoids the punch easily.
Donnerwetter throws a series of punches but Perez avoids them all with ease.
Donnerwetter throws a half hearted mid kick.
Donnerwetter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Perez is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Donnerwetter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Donnerwetter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Perez clobbers Donnerwetter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Perez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Perez drops Donnerwetter with a beautiful combination! Donnerwetter stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Perez is looking for the KO!

It looks like Hans Donnerwetter has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perez steps in with a hook that catches Donnerwetter right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Perez follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Donnerwetter looks absolutely devastated.

Martinez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Wiaz is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Wiaz flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Martinez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Wiaz and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Martinez slips an arm under Wiaz chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Martinez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Martinez is squeezing on Wiaz like an anaconda would it's prey. Wiaz fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cahn distracts Simms with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Simms is trying to control the position but Cahn postures up.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cahn working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Simms really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cahn loads up on a big left hand. Simms felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Cahn looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Simms can't hide his disappointment, as Cahn celebrates the victory.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns fails to land the takedown.
Hemmo ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hemmo's coach down at The Way of The Fist was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hemmo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hemmo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Burns. Burns obviously looking to wear him down.
Hemmo throws a jab when Burns was well out of range.
Hemmo misses with a wild body shot.

The referee asks Hemmo politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hemmo prefers to stall for the moment though.

Hemmo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hemmo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
You can see the frustration on Burns's face as Hemmo controls the position.

Burns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hemmo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burns has managed to get both his arms back between Hemmo's legs - danger averted.

Hemmo pushes a forearm under Burns's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Burns is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
