The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Huge but Huge pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Huge doesn't manage to clinch there - Newman circles away.

Huge scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Huge is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Newman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Newman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Check out the look on Huge's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Newman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Huge. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Huge stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Huge really is a fat lump.
Newman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Huge bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Huge has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Newman is trying to control Huge's posture but Huge avoids it.
Newman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Huge kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

I really don't envy Newman right now.
Huge just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
You can see the frustration on Newman's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Huge is working for a rear naked choke. Newman is not defending it well and Huge has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Newman refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Newman's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Stratto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stratto wants to get up but he can't break Stallone's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like Fight Night has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Junior finds Night's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Night flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Junior lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Night will be OK.

It looks like Josh JC has been cut.
