The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kinte leaves Thomas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Thomas misses with a takedown
and Kinte counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kinte goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kinte - that will leave a mark!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thomas throws a wild hook but Kinte just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Thomas gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Kinte raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khaled Kalil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris's entrance music is no love. A fine choice. Kalil is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Black Rob - Whoa!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kalil paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Harris shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalil tries to sprawl out of it but Harris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Harris dives in and grabs Kalil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kalil pushes down on Harris's head and hops out.
Kalil pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kalil is looking to slow Harris down with leg kicks.
Harris works over Kalil's head and body with a nice combination.
Harris takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harris blocks a head kick by Kalil.

Kalil lands a big head kick that sends Harris tumbling to the mat! Kalil takes a step backwards and waves Harris back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Harris circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Kalil. Harris falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Kalil!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix takes one on the button.
Akabaro misses with an uppercut
and Phoenix counters with a body kick that stops Akabaro in his tracks momentarily.
Phoenix swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Phoenix, right into the meat.
Akabaro takes a swing at Phoenix's ribcage but misses.
Akabaro uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Phoenix.
A bone on bone clash there as Phoenix blocks the leg kick.
Akabaro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Phoenix misses with an attempted mid kick.
Akabaro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Phoenix moves away.

Akabaro lands with a straight right. Phoenix didn't see that one coming.
Phoenix feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Akabaros jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Akabaro slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kwame Akabaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Phoenix counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Phoenix changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Phoenix is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Phoenix fails in his attempt to clinch.
Akabaro takes a swing at Phoenix's ribcage but misses.

Phoenix lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Phoenix seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Phoenix swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Akabaro throws a leg kick
enabling Phoenix to counter with a crisp jab.
Akabaro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Akabaro there as he acknowledges the shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Phoenix looks to throw the jab but Akabaro is out of range.
Phoenix wants to clinch up but Akabaro keeps it at a distance.
Akabaro fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Phoenix.

and Phoenix counters with an inside leg kick.
Akabaro throws a left and a right that both miss
and Phoenix counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Phoenix swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Phoenix bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Akabaro's head backwards.
Akabaro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phoenix circles away quickly and effectively.
Akabaro has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Akabaro takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Phoenix scores with a nice body kick.
Phoenix avoids a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Phoenix.
Akabaro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Phoenix jabs at Akabaro's body.
Phoenix connects with a leg kick. Akabaro looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Akabaro looks winded!
Phoenix's jab looks to have found its range, popping Akabaro under the eye.

Phoenix tries to move into range but Akabaro moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Phoenix uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Akabaro.
Akabaro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phoenix circles away quickly and effectively.
Phoenix lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Akabaro takes a kick to the side of the head.

Akabaro swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Akabaro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Akabaro tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Phoenix is able to avoid easily.
Akabaro wants to stay close but Phoenix steps back to make room for something. Akabaro seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Phoenix and Akabaro drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
