The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabrial defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Weston.
Weston has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Gabrial is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Gabrial tries to sprawl but Weston drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Weston thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gabrial's head.
Weston looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Weston decides to stand and escape the position.
Weston takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Weston in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gabrial tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Weston!

Durran tries to bum rush Cannas with a series of wild strikes but Cannas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Durran paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Cannas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durran sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cannas somewhat.
Billy Durran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Cannas.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savageton has managed to clinch.

Mcginty has hold of one of Savageton's legs. Savageton is fighting the takedown attempt but Mcginty gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Savageton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcginty is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Savageton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mcginty is aware though and is defending well.

Mcginty wants to pass the guard but Savageton is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
