Gracie is fighting off a takedown attempt but BJ is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gracie to the mat. Gracie regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Filter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mahone.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Filter crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mahone - the referee stops the clock and Filter gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mahone. Filter manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mahone throws a leg kick which misses Filter's front leg but catches the back leg as Filter tries to avoid it.
Mahone shoots in looking for a takedown. Filter tries to sprawl out of it but Mahone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Filter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
