Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boone Straud!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shooter misses with a straight right.
Shooter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Straud.
Shooter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Straud finds it's way round the side to connect with Shooter's head.

Shooter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brown shoots in for a takedown but Smithwick shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Brown cracks a nice hook into Smithwick's ribs.
Smithwick uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

letting Smithwick counter with a right hand.

Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Smithwick sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brown is looking to cinch up a triangle. Smithwick throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brown's body to avoid the submission. Brown has instead reached around Smithwick's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brown arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

and Supernova counters with a left and a right that stings Cierra.
Supernova drops his hands momentarily and Cierra takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Supernova takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Cierra explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Cierra lands with a shot to the body.
Supernova chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cierra can pounce on him.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cierra, right into the meat.
Cierra stuns Supernova with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Cierra feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Supernova sprawling to the canvas! Supernova rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cierra finish him?!

Cierra throws a shot to the body.
Cierra lands a nice leg kick that just misses Supernova's sensitive parts.
A head kick misses from Cierra.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Supernova crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cierra - the referee stops the clock and Supernova gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cierra. Supernova manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Cierra moves into range and clinches up with Supernova.
A nice left hand lands by Cierra.

Cierra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cierra cracks Supernova with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Supernova falls to his knees and Cierra doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Cierra!
Carlos Cierra seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
