Benebidez slips a jab and a cross from Falwell.
Falwell looks to land a combination. Benebidez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Falwell throws a left and a right that both miss

and Benebidez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Falwell won't be happy with that.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Benebidez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Benebidez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Falwell, who protects the arm well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benebidez is working to tighten his grip on Falwell's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Falwell has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Benebidez is really squeezing tight and eventually Falwell passes out! Benebidez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Alfredo Benebidez!

The defeated Yahweh Falwell had this to say: 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much.
