The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sept Heures tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vimes swivels and escapes.
Vimes throws a big shot that misses.

Sept Heures tries to land knees in the clinch but Vimes avoids the damage to the body.
Sept Heures throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Vimes blocks it with crossed arms.

Vimes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sept Heures has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

A looping hook to the body misses from Vimes. Sept Heures does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sept Heures walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sept Heures uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vimes.
Sept Heures buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vimes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

After the fight, Rocky Marciano was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
