Duke stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Duke wants it to stay on the feet.

Kosugi shoots in looking for a takedown but Hyatt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kosugi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Kosugi is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hyatt is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kosugi.

Hyatt fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kosugi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Kosugi gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Hyatt gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kosugi is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Heracles crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rutten - the referee stops the clock and Heracles gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rutten. Heracles manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rutten throws an overhand right that lands on Heracles's shoulder, as Heracles tries to avoid the shot.
Rutten feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Heracless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looks like Poseidon Heracles has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Heracles blocks a head kick by Rutten.
Heracles scores with a jab to the head.
Rutten scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rutten throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Poseidon Heracles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heracles has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rutten.
Donk. Heracles catches Rutten right on the button with a cross.
Some bone on bone action there as Heracles checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Heracles chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rutten can pounce on him.
Heracles bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Rutten's head.
Heracles jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rutten connects with a leg kick. Heracles looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Rutten makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Heracles really felt that one!

Rutten tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Heracles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rutten throws the left hand but Heracles avoids the punch easily.
Rutten lands a head kick. Heracles smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rutten connects with an inside leg kick.
Rutten throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
A solid leg kick lands there for Rutten.
Rutten lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Rutten scores with the left hand. Heracles knows he should have avoided that one.

That has opened up Poseidon Heracles's cut even more.

Rutten dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Heracles. That did some damage!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Rutten - that will leave a mark!
Rutten throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Rutten fakes the leg kick and cracks Heracles in the body.
Rutten tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Heracles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rutten lands a big head kick that sends Heracles tumbling to the mat! Rutten takes a step backwards and waves Heracles back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Heracles is rocked!

The cut above Poseidon Heracles's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Rutten lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Heracles crumples to the floor! Rutten milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Sebastiaan Rutten!

Khan drops back looking for a leg! Egomitis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Egomitis manages to kick Khan off! Khan jumps back into Egomitis's guard.
Egomitis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Khan on the ground.
Khan throws a big elbow that misses.

Khan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Egomitis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Khan, into his guard.

Egomitis is posturing up here but Khan has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Egomitis tries to roll out but it's too tight and Egomitis has to tap! Slick submission there by Khan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Genghis Khan!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter passes to side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee asks Fighter politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Fighter prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kane is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fighter connects with a decent elbow.
Fighter passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kane!
Kane seems to have recovered his senses.
Fighter is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kane can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
A big strike lands for Fighter! That's really hurt Kane and he's turned his back - Fighter keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Fighter jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
