Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Galvao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dakota Kelz!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvao moves in looking to clinch but Kelz pushes him off.
Galvao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kelz misses with a wild combination.
Galvao shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A jab lands there for Kelz.
Kelz misses with a head kick.
Kelz lands a jab to the nose.
Kelz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kelz misses with a double jab.
Galvao tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kelz swivels and escapes.
Galvao fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Galvao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Galvao tries to clinch but Kelz is having none of it.

Kelz moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Galvao closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kelz did well to prevent Galvao getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Galvao decides to return to a standing position.
Kelz scores with a head kick.
Kelz fails to land with a series of punches.
Galvao shoots in for a double leg but Kelz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Kelz slaps away a takedown attempt from Galvao, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kelz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Kelz displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kelz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Galvao shoots for a takedown but Kelz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Andre Galvao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kelz circles away from the clinch attempt
and Kelz counters with a two punch combo.
Kelz lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Kelz moves into range and clinches up with Galvao.
Kelz is trying to break free.
Galvao is trying to drag Kelz to the mat but Kelz just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Kelz is looking to control Galvao's arms but Galvao gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kelz has his back to the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelz fails to pull guard.
Kelz is trying to pull guard but Galvao has him pressed against the cage.
Kelz crunches a lovely knee into Galvao's ribcage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Kelz blocks the elbow strike.
Galvao has Kelz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kelz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kelz gets underhooks to prevent Galvao's takedown attempt.

Kelz successfully pulls guard.
Kelz wants to stand up but Galvao is controlling him.
Kelz looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Galvao not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Galvao passes Kelz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Galvao is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Galvao frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Galvao scoring with strikes but Kelz is staying in there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dakota Kelz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Galvao closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kelz's guard.
Galvao advances to half guard.
Galvao trying to mount his opponent but Kelz defends it.
Galvao performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Galvao has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Galvao prevents Kelz from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Galvao content to control rather than advance.
Galvao working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Kelz wants to get back to full guard but Galvao has mounted him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Galvao takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Andre Galvao overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Galvao connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Galvao working for a guillotine from mount but Kelz is in no mood to give up.
Kelz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galvao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Galvao controlling the position easily from mount.
Kelz can't escape the position.

Galvao stands up from mount. Strange move.
Galvao fails with the takedown.
Kelz tries to clinch but Galvao moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Galvao looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kelz is fending him off so far but Galvao persists. Nope, Kelz circles away and we're back to standing.
Galvao changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kelz tries to avoid it but Galvao manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kelz to the ground. Kelz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Galvao. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kelz clinches with his opponent.
Kelz is trying to break free.
Kelz putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Galvao in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Kelz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Galvao shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kelz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Galvao controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Galvao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Galvao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Galvao sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Galvao dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Kelz gets caught napping as Galvao dives in and scores a takedown. Kelz manages to retain guard.

Galvao gets to his feet. Kelz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kelz tests Galvao's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kelz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Galvao throws a right hand that Kelz ducks under and follows up with a left that Kelz also avoids with ease.

Galvao manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kelz on his heels. He'll look to pass Kelz's guard now, I'm sure.
Galvao advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Galvao controls the position from side control.
Kelz bucks up and tries to throw Galvao off but instead Galvao has got his back!
Kelz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Galvao is riding his opponent, not letting Kelz buck him off.

Kelz is trying to defend against the choke here but Galvao has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Galvao Tightens the hold and Kelz taps out furiously! Galvao displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Andre Galvao!
