We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Helix throws an elbow but Batman slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Batman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Helix wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Helix has an Americana. Batman didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Helix is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Helix hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Brandon Helix!
Brandon Helix is the new welterweight champion!
The Batman spoke after the fight, saying 'The dark knight will always rise, stronger than before.'.
