With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lim Timber!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Hamps with that takedown attempt.

Timber looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Hamps on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hamps tries to get out of the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hamps avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hamps has a closed guard, preventing Timber from standing up.
Timber trying to control but Hamps is working from the bottom.
Hamps wants to sweep here but Timber controlling him for the moment.
Timber throws an elbow that misses. Hamps uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Timber's guard. Nice move by Hamps!
Hamps postures up.
Timber might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hamps haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hamps decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Timber, up you get!

Timber gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Timber throws a punch but it's blocked by Hamps.
Hamps has been working on his balance at Titan Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Timber.
Hamps takes a knee to the side of the body.

Hamps has clasped his hands together around Timber's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Timber is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Timber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hamps wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hamps scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Timber to see if he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Timber takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hamps takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Timber tries to hold on but Hamps postures up.

Hamps lands a big elbow.
Hamps is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Timber can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Timber is still in real trouble! Can Hamps finish him?
Hamps connects with a bit shot that sees Timber covering up! More strikes from Hamps and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hamps is our winner by TKO!

Taki clinches with his opponent.
Taki has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pierra is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pierra fails to pull guard.
Pierra working aggressively here.
A frustrated look appears on Pierra's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Taki gets underhooks to prevent Pierra's takedown attempt.

Taki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Tammer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gi Tammer wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Yar moves into the clinch.

Yar jumps guard and drags Tammer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tammer stays in close to Yar's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Gi Tammer just wasn't active enough.

Yar won't allow Tammer to get back to his feet.

Yar stands and steps away. Tammer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Yar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tammer on the side of the head.
Tammer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Yar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tammer's guard now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Yar stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Yar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tammer's guard.

Yar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tammer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tammer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tammer wants to control but Yar passes easily into half guard.
Tammer is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Impact MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Yar decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Yar lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Tammer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Yar is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tammer is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Yar has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Tammer controlling the positon.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Merlin Yar will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tammer is working an open guard so Yar takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Tammer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tammer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yar's half guard.
Yar tries to kick Tammer off but Tammer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gi Tammer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Tammer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Yar is trying to stand up here but Tammer is controlling him well.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Yar lands a lovely overhand right.
Tammer tries to clinch there but Yar circles away.
Tammer misses with a straight left.
Tammer fails in his attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Tammer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Tammer as Yar shoots in.
Some wild striking there from Yar.
Gi Tammer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tammer is looking to clinch.
Tammer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yar.
Tammer cracks Yar with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Tammer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Tammer won't allow Yar to get back to his feet.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Tammer stands and throws Yar's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tammer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Yar knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tammer is working for a kimura but Yar is defending it quite comfortably.

Van Bruinier leaves Gomez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Van Bruinier is pressed up against the cage. Gomez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Van Bruinier down to the mat. Van Bruinier avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Van Bruinier misses with a few strikes there.
Van Bruinier throws a combination. Gomez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gomez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Oh Gomez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Van Bruinier fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gomez.
Gomez seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Van Bruinier cracks the inside of Gomez's front leg.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gomez. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Gomez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Van Bruinier lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Gomez out cold! Gomez is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
