The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Evans or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez which made him look bad.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ramirez sprawls well. Ramirez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Ramirez with a hook.
Ramirez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Evans throws a right and a left that both miss.
Evans takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Evans showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ramirez.
Evans shoots for a takedown but Ramirez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ramirez lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Evans out cold! Evans is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jesus Ramirez!
Jesus Ramirez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Rashad Evans was interviewed post fight and said 'I want to say thank you to all my fans. Sorry I had let you all down, but I will come back. I promise. I'm going back to the gym and reanalyze what I need to do for next time.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stanfield wants it to stay on the feet.
Stanfield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Stanfield shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard.

Gracie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stanfield is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gracie.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Stanfield hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Funkyama feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
