The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarpong stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sarpong wants it to stay on the feet.
We've been hearing reports that Jaysimpson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Jaysimpson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Jaysimpson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sarpong as he jumps to the side.
Jaysimpson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sarpong's waist but Sarpong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jaysimpson off to one side.

I think Negreanu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Break on Through. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Phillip Finnegan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Finnegan ducks under a wild hook from Negreanu.
Negreanu misses with a shot to the body
and Finnegan counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Negreanu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Finnegan counters with a good, hard body kick but Negreanu shrugs it off.
Negreanu misses with a straight right.
Derec Negreanu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Negreanu throws a poor cross that misses
and Finnegan counters with a nice body kick.
Finnegan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Negreanu throws a right and a left that Finnegan avoids nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Finnegan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Negreanu's calf.
Finnegan connects with a leg kick. Negreanu looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Finnegan lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Negreanu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Derec Negreanu has been cut.
Finnegan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Negreanu.
Negreanu misses with a body shot
and Finnegan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Negreanu's knee momentarily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Negreanu crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Finnegan - the referee stops the clock and Negreanu gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Finnegan. Negreanu manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Negreanu misses with a left hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Finnegan lands a big head kick that sends Negreanu tumbling to the mat! Finnegan takes a step backwards and waves Negreanu back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Negreanu is rocked!
Finnegan works Negreanu's body with a nice hook.
Oh Negreanu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Negreanu drops his hands momentarily and Finnegan needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Negreanu just on the top of the head. Negreanu drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Negreanu - he's done!

Black throws an overhand right that lands on Robertson's shoulder, as Robertson tries to avoid the shot.

Oooooh!!! Black has knocked Robertson down with a huge combo! Black steps away and waves a wobbly Robertson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Black looks to land a left hand but Robertson moved out of range nicely.

Robertson walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Black! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Smalls does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vinnie Jones.
